21. Second Big Parts Order...

Ok so it has been a while since i did some real work on the mini, reason being that there is simply not a lot to do before the shell is sent in for primer... But to the devote followers of this blog I have a big parts update to do following the arrival of some boxes from the UK.

First up is my long awaited 8.4" Disc drive flanges...

I went through a couple of my local forums to find a pair of flanges, but in the end I broke down and ordered a set of new ones from Mini Sport in the UK. They will most probably be chemically blackened to protect them from corrosion.

Second on the list, we have a New Clutch and Brake master cylinder set.

Since Wian took my old brake master cylinder for his mini and I wanted something a little more modern I ordered these plastic replacements Clutch and Brake master cylinders to go with my new brakes and clutch.

Thirdly we have some little packets with ball joints and top arm service kits in them.
You can’t ever be to careful when it comes to ball-joints, as Wian found out on his mini a ball-joint failure can be and expensive endeavour.

Package number four contained a set of adjustable lower arms...
I ordered the lower arms because I always wanted some negative camber on my front wheel and they were on special when I placed the order.

The fifth position on the list is held by a Negative camber and tracking kit courtesy of Mini Sport...

With this installed my mini will finally be able to receive a proper wheel alignment...and some negative camber...

Number six goes to a pair of Mini Sport alloy handbrake quadrants...

 Again they were on special...

Seven belongs to a radius arm repair kit...

You can never be too complacent when it comes to your cars suspension so it is important to service some of the bigger parts once and a while.

Finally we have a set of pre-built Mini Sport back plate assemblies....

During the entire time I spent stripping my rear suspension the back brakes bothered me, I mean they were pushing 50 years of age. So I ordered me a new set with some proper shoes to match my front brakes.

Stay tuned for more...

20. Pre-Primer Update

This is my first update for the New Year...and things have been going slowly on the restoration front.
Basically I have been busy with ordering some parts and going on vacation. But during the holidays myself and Willy managed to get some work done to the mini before it  is sent for Blasting and Primer. So here are the pics...
